Walking The Walk To Make A Difference For the Kids
ABOUT
The Walk With Me Event, happening at the end of May, is a true testament to the passion and commitment
that Vana Trust Founder, Nyasha Gwatidzo, holds for enriching the lives of those most vulnerable around the world. Nyasha will embark on a 300-mile walk across Zimbabwe joined by Liam Garcia of the
Long Well Walk, Thandi Haruperi and John Usher.

PURPOSE OF THE PROJECT
The walk is a fundraising effort to help in two specific areas of the Trust’s scope.
ST DAVID’S SCHOOL PROJECT
Provide St. David’s school with a Science Lab and repair a borehole for both schoolchildren and villagers to have access to clean water.
VANA TRUST ORGANIC FARM
Allow Vana Trust to build a field shelter for the animals at the Vana Trust Organic Farm in England.

ONGOING VANA TRUST PROJECTS
ST DAVID’S SCHOOL PROJECT
Vana Trust currently supports 12 children in helping them attend St David’s and is looking to identify further children.

The story so far … Vana Trust was registered as a charity in July 2003 for the relief of poverty, sickness and distress, the advancement of education and the preservation and protection of good health of children and young people in Africa and UK.

This started with a pilot scheme in a Zimbabwe village school called St David’s School – Nyandoro. The head teacher helped us identify a group of 60 children who were not able to fund costs of attending school such as the school fees and uniforms.

These children were either orphans or their parents were affected by HIV/AIDS or poverty. Vana Trust has now sponsored the education of over 1000 children and the demand to help more children is growing.
VANA TRUST ORGANIC FARM
Vana Trust Organic Farm is a beautiful, small, mixed farm on the Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire border, that is charity funded. We raise chickens, ducks, sheep, goats and pigs and grow organic fruit, vegetables and herbs.

We provide opportunities for people with learning disabilities, autism and mental health issues to come and work on the farm, to grow organic fruit and vegetables and to help look after the animals.

Our aim is for those attending to develop new skills, gain confidence, improve physical fitness and reduce feelings of anxiety, tension and isolation.

Opportunities are given to be part of a team and to connect with others.
